Our Programs

Creative Minds Kaleidoscope Play and Learn

Our free play and learn group supports children’s early learning and development. Young children and their caregivers participate in play activities and learn more about what they can do to support healthy growth and learning.  Another benefit of this fantastic program is that families are often gifted with various supplies from our generous partners, such as diapers, wipes, and formula.

Our Saturday play schedule has been expanded to serve more families with two play sessions! The first session is from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; the second is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. On the 1st Saturday is our Family Outing Day.  The meeting time is dependent on the activity.

Before and After-School Program

Empowering Youth and Families Outreach provides year-round school programming.

  • EYFO offers part-time, full-time, and school break programming options.

  • We provide programming on early release days, in-service days, and several school holidays.

During the summer months, EYFO operates our Summer Leadership Institute, emphasizing academics, character-building, and enrichment activities. This program operates from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with before and after-care options.

College and Career Readiness Program

EYFO College and Career Planning Program, nicknamed "Cop Every Opp" (CEO), teaches youth that they are the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of their future and supports them in taking advantage of every opportunity available to them. CEO actively seeks to remove barriers to participation by providing transportation to events and covering participation/application fees for low-income youth.

CEO partners with high school youth, walking them through the process of pursuing the career path of their choosing by providing post-secondary planning, advising, and support.

Availability - Saturday support and 1:1 Sessions

EYFO Youth Entrepreneurs

This program cultivates the entrepreneurial leadership skills of middle & high school-aged youth by providing hands-on experience operating an art-based business. The Youth in Business (YIB) design collective teaches participants how to run a successful business as a team, selling art products and clothing they create. Students receive financial sustainability as business owners and are taught leadership development. They are provided with career and higher education planning and given tools to promote economic independence.

Community Service Learning Program

Each student in this program creates a service project to give back to their community. Some of our activities include: Partnering with Rainier Beach Action Coalition to beautify Rainer Valley. Sending care packages to Puerto Rico for hurricane relief. Hosting free clothing drives for the community. Serving meals to the homeless at local shelters. Distributing food to underserved communities.  Last but not least, paying tuition for several students at the Vision of Ministry in Uganda, Africa.

Eyfo tutoring program

Our After-School Tutoring Program ensures our Elementary through High School youth receive the support needed to succeed academically by pairing them with tutors to assist them with homework and build strong academic skills.

This program aims to reshape negative ideologies about education and youth capability through affirming hands-on learning that incorporates an understanding of each youth as it relates to their psychosocial environment. Benefits include positive character attributes, developing resiliency traits, exposure to learning opportunities, embracing a culture of service, and increasing perceptions of self-efficacy.

EYFO STEM Program

Our STEM engagement prepares students for the Hour of Code event with our partner Amazon.  Students participate in hands-on computer-based coding exercises working through appropriate computer and non-computer-based coding exercises.
